NIGHTSHADE CITY, Book I of the Nightshade Chronicles, is a CBC Best Book of 2011 and a 2011 winner of the Westchester Fiction Award. I finished Nightshade City the week my daughter was born, and of course both her and my son are in it!
GOBLIN SHARK RISING, a middle-grade, undersea adventure, that takes place in the mysterious Tokyo Canyon, will release in 2013. More to come on that soon! For now, just now you'll be spending a lot of time swimming with sharks!
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC: I've been writing fiction for National Geographic School Publishing since May 2011. These stories will be published in book format along with a non-fiction piece, for 3rd-5th grade readers. They've been wonderful to work with and the editors are great!
EBOOKS: I've had a lot of readers email me about ebooks of the Nightshade Chronicles. Currently, my books are available in both hardcover and paperback, and ebooks will be out Spring of 2012 for Books I & II!
A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I live in Chicagoland with my husband Eric, and our two kids. I love stormy gray days
when I can sit inside my house and write! If I weren't a writer, I'd love to be a marine biologist, a fashion designer, or an archaeologist! I dream big!
ADVICE: The best thing I can tell aspiring writers is to keep at it. Even the most famous of authors started at the bottom. Be prepared for the "no's" so you can be that much more surprised when you get that one "yes"! The weight of one yes is worth more than 1000 no's.
